What You Can Make

Tips for the Best GIF Quality

Use consistent image dimensions

For the smoothest result, upload images that are all the same size. Gifmake will scale them to your chosen output dimensions.

Start with a lower frame delay for fast animations

Set the speed to 100–200 ms for fluid motion. Use 500–1000 ms for slideshow-style GIFs.

Keep file sizes reasonable

GIF colour depth is limited to 256 colours per frame. Simpler, flatter images produce smaller, sharper GIFs than complex photos.

Use PNG for transparency

If you need a transparent background in your GIF, make sure your source images are PNGs with alpha transparency — not JPGs.
